Williamstown Festival Fun

Amelie was very excited to see her park land filled with colourful rides and happy faces. She was and has been very bossy though...it's either her 3rd molars coming through (yucky poos) or just being a 2 year old who points in anger and yells at us through gritting teeth! Dinosaur ride with DD - Daddy David or Daddy Dinosaur??
Teapot Ride with mum - loved it when Amelie broke out in song...the damn cup wouldn't stop spinning and I walked off with a headache. Geez.

We left a message for MJ on the message tree. It was her 4 month birthday yesterday xx.

Buttons & Ice cube trays!

A cheap and effective way to keep the little one entertained, for a while anyway...the fun stopped when the buttons were gathered in Amelie's hands and thrown over her head. OK first time round- you smile and go "OH buttons everywhere" , not good 2nd time round, pack up time 3rd time round.

Magnolia Square Market

I managed to get to Magnolia Square Market this morning. I just wanted to pop in and pop out - see if there was anything new, anything to wow me. Of course there always is...lovely jewelery very pretty bedheads, wonderful design everywhere...if you missed it the next one is on the 21st-23rd May at the Brighton Town Hall.

we like where we live

sometimes it gets too much when you're little

The Pencil Case!

Beck complained there weren't any attractive pencil cases out there big enough to hold her stuff!! Well...I hope I fixed that problem lovely girl. Ok, it was my first attempt at using a bias tape maker and sewing one on AND sewing it on a zip! Yes, it pissed me off but I persisted cause I find it hard to give up-it's the bull in me. Need lots of practice perfecting the stitching. Delicious fabric picked especially for Beck from Kimono House and thank you to Pink Penguin for the tutorial.

"Ohh look, butterfly on Heidi head.."

The title of this blog screeched out of Amelie's mouth when we visited the butterfly house at the Melbourne Zoo last week. It was very cute. Heidi had a butterfly land on her head twice and it keep Amelie and I amused for awhile.

Crafting with dad

DD's (Daddy David) spare time is spent crouching over a desk that is too low, straining brain with close up work that no one else would have the patience for and asking for my opinion on colours...it's called miniature painting-and he is very good at it! Amelie gave it a go - she was sooo quite for sooo long :-) She loves painting with DD.

boy & girl twin owls

Here is a snapshot of some owls I'm making as a gift to a set of newborn twins - one girl one boy. I haven't dressed them the same cause I'm not into that...it might have something to do with the fact that my mum dressed my sister and I the same for years, and there is 4 years between us! I never liked it.

The other two markets

Oh dear...how fortunate we were to have lots of rain on Saturday, but how unfortunate it was for those who set up their lovely market stalls in Seddon for the Maribyrnong Makers Market. It rained and rained and rained. We checked out a few stalls inside the church but there really wasn't any point for the stall holders outside (they weren't their long...for those who bothered to set up).

We did get to Mathilda's Market on Sunday and it was nice seeing an old friend. I purchase one of Lauren's lovely skirts for Amelie and some deliciously warm & cosy Ergo pj's too! I even bumped into a work friend...it was lovely seeing you Est!

Markets and more markets...

Ok. I need to get to 3 markets in 5 days. Mum kindly looked after the two princesses while I dashed out to the Stitches and Craft Show. It was sooooo nice to finally see fresh, young crafters blood! There has been such a massive shift in craft over the last couple of years, thanks to the internet it's so much easier for independent designers and small businesses to promote their work and create a name for themselves.
I subscribed to Mixtape and bought some oh so lovely fabric from the talented girls at Ink & Spindle.

Tomorrow is the Maribyrnong Makers Market. This is a very small but cute local market held in Seddon. My aim is to get a stall running there by the end of the year...hmmm.
Sunday is the Mathilda's Market which will be my first visit. A friend of mine Lauren whom I studied Textile Design with back in 95' will have her Owlet stall up and running. Good Luck Lauren!

Been too long

It's been nearly a month since my last post. I have no excuse. Here's a list of things I have been up to that relate to CRAFT...
*Sketching out some logos for kiss the birdie
*Sourcing places to get some woven labels made up
*Sourcing stamp companies
*Drawing 'Grandpa' for Amelie on her Megasketcher
*Went to my first
Brown Owls meeting
*Buying fabric AGAIN...snapshot

*Play dough creations with Amelie
*Reading, reading and reading craft blogs
*Went to the
Stitches & Craft Show
*Fairy stamping with Amelie...snapshot

*Crayon drawing and glitter masterpieces...with Amelie (you guessed it!)

Getting anxious that this blog is becoming more like a family diary then a craft one...I've been so slack! I really need to get moving and making. I need some artwork for Heidi's room!

Sigh...so little time...
